Early Mood Board

Excited to share some early design inspiration that I’ve been pinning for the last few months. I know our design will evolve as we figure out each space, especially as time, money, and energy become a real factor but for now it’s so fun to imagine what could be! Here’s a peek at what’s currently inspiring us.

White Exteriors | Painting exterior brick feels like a huge decision to make but it also feels so right! Painting a house white definitely brings more cottage vibes but I think I’m here for it. It just gives a clean and neat curb appeal that makes my eyes happy. I also love the shade of blue on the door in the photo above.

Paneling & Wood Pegs | I feel like shiplap was having a moment for awhile there but now I’m seeing lots of vertical paneling paired with more practical elements like shelving and wood pegs. This style feels very European farm house which is definitely having a moment because of shows like The Established Home and For The Love of Kitchens.

Brass Hardware | I think design trends like grand millennial and transitional have popularized unlacquered brass, especially in kitchen hardware. Brass can get super pricey but there are so many DIY videos using things like rub and buff paint to achieve the look for less. We definitely might have to give this a go in our mini kitchen renovation.

Checkerboard Tile | Checkerboard is everywhere! I’m especially loving it as floor tile and instead of the classic black & white, pairing grey tones with marbled creamy white tones.

Pops of Color | I love how the bedroom in the mood board has neutral walls and bedding but brings in color along the trim and in some of the furniture pieces. I definitely want to push myself to bring more color into our space.
